These terms cover the website satoshisolver.com, the free checker at checker.satoshisolver.com, and paid sales of the downloadable SatoshiSolver app. The seller is Elk Horn Enterprises LLC (SatoshiSolver is a product of Elk Horn Enterprises LLC), Bend, Oregon (“we”, “us”, “the seller”). A final version of this page, once published, is what use of the site and a purchase of the app agree to. This draft does not grant a license by itself.
Not tax, legal, or financial advice
SatoshiSolver is record-keeping and reporting software. Nothing on this site or in the app is tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. We don’t guarantee any tax outcome. You are responsible for reviewing your reports and for what you file. Talk to a qualified tax professional about your situation. This draft page is not legal advice either.
The downloadable app
The paid product is a one-time purchase of the SatoshiSolver app for Mac and Windows. It is not a subscription, and buying it does not create an account. You download an installer and receive a license key. The purchase includes updates to version 1 of the app (1.x). Later major versions or tax-year editions may be sold separately.
No account, and your data stays on your machine
The app collects no data. It needs no account and no sign-in. The files you import and the reports you create stay on your machine. We don’t receive them. The app talks only to your own computer. It is not a hosted service, and it is not reachable from the internet.
A license key delivered by email after purchase unlocks file downloads (the PDF, CSV and tax-software files). Importing, reviewing and on-screen results are free. The key is checked on your computer. Checking it does not send your records to us.
License
When you buy the app under the published terms, the seller grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install the app and use it for your own records. You do not buy the copyright in the software. You may install it on the Mac and Windows computers you use, and you may give exported reports to your tax preparer. You may not rent, sell, or give the installer or the license key to someone else.
If you lose the key or the installer, email hello@satoshisolver.com from the address you used at checkout and we will resend them. That resend is not a new purchase.
Paying
You pay the one-time price shown at checkout. Checkout is a Stripe payment link. The site does not run its own payment form. We don’t see or store your card number, and we don’t keep a customer database of our own. Stripe processes the payment and emails a receipt. The license key is delivered by email after purchase. Stripe’s terms apply to the payment itself.
The email address used at checkout is for delivering the key and handling a refund. It is not added to a mailing list. The waitlist is separate and only includes people who email us and ask to join.
Refunds
Refunds for the paid downloadable app are described in the refund policy. Please read it before you buy. A refund of the app price is not a refund of taxes, penalties, or interest.
The website and the free checker
This website describes the product. Features, dates, and prices on it are plans until a purchase is offered, and they may change. The free 1099-DA checker is a separate tool that runs in your browser. It is not the paid app, it costs nothing, and the refund policy does not apply to it.
Your records and accuracy
The app works from the files you import. Results depend on the completeness and accuracy of that data and on the settings you choose, such as cost-basis method and wallet assignments. Keep your own copies of your original records. We never need you to send those records to us.
Acceptable use
Don’t use the site or the app to break the law. Don’t bypass the license check in order to share file downloads (the PDF, CSV and tax-software files), and don’t redistribute the installer or the license key. The website has nowhere to upload files. Don’t send us your transaction history, wallet addresses, or tax reports.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the site and the app are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some places don’t allow certain warranty limits. In those places, the limits apply only as far as the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Elk Horn Enterprises LLC won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for taxes, penalties, or interest, arising from use of the site or the app. Our total liability won’t exceed the amount you paid us for the app. Some places don’t allow certain liability limits. In those places, the limits apply only as far as the law allows.
Trademarks
Names of exchanges, apps, and wallets mentioned on this site are trademarks of their owners. SatoshiSolver is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. The SatoshiSolver name is used by Elk Horn Enterprises LLC.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, except where the law of your place gives you a right that a contract can’t waive.
Changes
If we change the published terms, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. A change does not shorten a refund period that has already started for a purchase you already made.
